CGA Technology Fire Safety Week

CGA Technology Fire Safety Talk, Fire Safety Awareness Week 2022

This week is National Fire Safety Week 2022 (17th-23rd October). The purpose of fire awareness week is to emphasise the three key points of fire safety in the home and workplace:

  • Prevention
  • Detection
  • Evacuation

Each year in Ireland, an average of 25 people die in fire related incidences. Excluding Dublin City centre, there were an estimated 10,846 fires in Ireland in 2021 alone. Fortunately, this startling figure is a decrease from the previous year’s 12,019 fires.

To promote awareness of Irish Fire Safety Week, we at CGA Technology received an informative and potentially lifesaving presentation from Corrib Fire Safety. The talk included details on best practices and procedures surrounding home and workplace fire safety.

The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically increased the number of remote workers across the country from 200,000 to 700,000. Therefore, making it more important than ever for companies to evaluate how they maintain employee safety, both remote and in-house.

A piece of information that may seem minor for lone workers, but has huge lifesaving capabilities is knowing one’s Eircode. Having the ability to provide emergency services with a pinpoint location off-hand could save valuable time and even lives.

FlexManager’s health and safety-focused product suite provides a variety of solutions to improve fire prevention, detection, and evacuation processes and procedures, these include:

  • Equipment Inspections & Maintenance
  • Safety Audits
  • Emergency Evacuation
  • Risk Assessments

What stood out most for Corrib Fire Safety’s professional instructor was CGA Technology’s use of Access Control solutions throughout the building. This ensures that all employees are accounted for at all times. This allows for a quick and easy headcount system that will inform emergency services of any employees still in danger on arrival.

Additionally, this award-winning health and safety solution provides a layer of security that will limit access to any premises from potentially dangerous personnel. Employee safety is not something that should be undervalued or neglected. Therefore, it is important to take every precaution possible when approaching fire prevention.
